I love weddings. Thalia (she's the one over there, trying to get that shaven-headed lass who takes everything so seriously to crack a smile - Thal always loved a challenge) reckons it is down to having eight sisters and badly wanting to get rid or them. I think she was joking.
Actually, it's because weddings at once encapsulate what I am all about, and at the same time allow me a bit of time off, since ceremonials are more Polly's field than mine. Not that either of us have much to do here, of course, but the groom could probably do with a leeetle inspiration later. Although, given his mother, perhaps not.
I fiddle with the roses in my hair. Only Dreamcatcher would have thought about having the hen night, stag night, wedding and wedding breakfast all at the same time. And a costume party to boot. Mel went on for hours about not having a thing to wear, until Polly came up with the idea of coming as the nine muses.
Well, eight muses, at any rate. Calli insisted on coming in her vampire outfit, and is currently chasing after some blonde guy, yelling something about ideas for "another book". His wife doesn't look too impressed at this. Me? I'm just taking notes for next time Calli pulls the "Elder Sister" act. You would thing that she would make sure she had the right person before trying to come over all inspirational...
Oh good. 'Nia has intervened at last. I think she's taking subtle revenge for Calli's comments last time she got us lost. The gentlemen in question seems to be taking steps to calm down the impending catfight rather than escaping while he can. Some men are amazing.
Cli is chatting with that stroppy female reporter. I think she's trying to set up a book, but I'm not sure. She needs to relax more - for her it's always work, work, work.
Judging by the faint strains of music, 'Terpe and Terpsi are off in a corner, playing duets to anyone who is prepared to listen. To be fair, they are good musicians, and that dancer they seem to have picked up knows her stuff. She's lucky to be able to dance to their tune, not that she is ever likely to know it.
Where's Polly got to now? Oh yes, in the corner with Mel and that ghost, all having a good cry. Well, I suppose that's traditional too.
I shouldn't be keeping tabs on my sisters like this. That's the Eldest's job. Stupid Calli and her crushes. I hate having to be the responsible one. I wanted to come here and have a good time.
Ah. Here comes the groom, resplendent in his He-Man outfit. Soon it will be the exchanging of vows (I have to suppress a giggle at the thought of the Embodiment of Chaos making a sacred vow in front of Eris, no less), and then...
Showtime!
